  • What are the control methods for soybean nutrient deficiency?

Soybean micronutrient deficiency shows as follows: in spring soybeans, nitrogen deficiency causes the true leaves to turn yellow, and yellowing can spread from bottom to top; on the compound leaves there are parallel continuous or discontinuous iron-colored patches along the veins, and chlorosis spreads from the leaf tip toward the base until the whole leaf is pale yellow and the veins also lose green; the leaves are small and thin and fall off easily, the stems are slender, and the lower leaves of the plant are dark green, thick, uneven, and long; when sulfur deficiency is severe, the veins are yellowish-brown, and later the whole leaf turns yellow. Potassium deficiency causes leaf yellowing, with symptoms developing from the lower leaves to the upper leaves; chlorotic spots first appear at the leaf margins, then

  • New High-Yield Cultivation Technique for Soybeans: "Four Changes and One Addition"

With the traditional tillage and sowing method for growing soybeans, the rows are narrow and the plants too dense, and combined with various other reasons, yields have long hovered around 100-150 kg. Through years of experimental research, we have worked out a new approach that can increase soybean yields by more than 40%, namely the "Four Changes and One Addition" technique. The usual measures for raising soybean yields, besides selecting new high-quality, high-yield varieties, also include paying attention to crop rotation. According to experiments, after many years of continuous cropping, soybeans show slow growth, short plants, yellowing lower leaves, early leaf drop, and few pods with small seeds. Experiments have also proven that continuous cropping (monocropping) for more than 3 years can reduce yields by 20%-30%, or even more, and 2 years of continuous cropping following a one-year break can reduce yields by more than 30%. Therefore, crop rotation and changing to a different crop are of great significance in soybean production. To achieve high-yield and super-high-yield soybean cultivation, the new "Four Changes and One Addition" cultivation technique should be implemented on this basis. The specific methods of "Four Changes and One Addition" are:

  • Introduction and Characteristics of the Suinong 14 Soybean Variety

This variety is a new medium-maturity spring soybean bred by the Suihua Agricultural Science Institute of the Heilongjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences, using Hefeng 25 / Suinong 8 as the parent materials. Characteristics: Suinong 14 has a growth period of about 120 days, with an active accumulated temperature of about 2486°C, and is a medium-maturity variety. It has a semi-determinate podding habit, medium-tall plant height, few branches, dense pods on the main stem, purple flowers, long leaves, thick dark green leaves, and gray pubescence. Internodes are short, pods are dense, and there are many 3- and 4-seeded pods. The seeds are spherical, the seed coat is bright yellow, the hilum is colorless, and the 100-seed weight is 21-22 g.

  • Introduction to the Characteristics of an Extra-Early-Maturing Fresh-Edible Soybean Variety

"Chunfengzao" is an early-maturing variety, formerly named Beiguozaosheng. It is a fresh-edible spring soybean variety introduced by the Zhejiang Provincial Agricultural New Variety Introduction and Development Center from the Tohoku Seed Co., Ltd. of Japan. It passed the examination and approval of the Zhejiang Variety Approval Committee in 2001. After two years of multi-site spring-sowing comparative trials, this variety achieved an average fresh pod yield of 521.8 kg per mu, a 4.5% increase in yield per mu compared with the control "Xiaoken 8901". Its spring-sowing growth period (from sowing to harvest of fresh pods) is 80 days. It is of the determinate pod-setting type, with a compact plant architecture and a plant height of 30-35 cm. The fresh weight of 100 pods is about 230 g, and the fresh weight of 100 seeds is about 6

  • Why can Pandun soybean challenge the Guinness record?

Pandun soybean was developed by Comrade Gao Xuehuan through distant hybridization, using "Swan Egg" soybean as the female parent and iron-pod pumpkin as the male parent. This achievement has been legally examined by the National Intellectual Property Administration and was publicly announced in the China Patent News on July 7, 2004, with patent publication number 02135997.0. The characteristics of this soybean are determinate podding, indeterminate branching, automatic topping, and pods formed in spikes. It has excellent yield potential, mainly for the following reasons: First, the plant height is about 1.6 m, with exceptional plants reaching 2 m. The basal diameter of the main stem is generally 2 to
