Rape disease control refers to the production techniques that use comprehensive measures to prevent and manage the various diseases that occur during the growth of rape (Brassica napus). Common rape diseases mainly include sclerotinia stem rot, downy mildew, white rust, viral disease and clubroot, among which sclerotinia stem rot has a wide occurrence range and causes relatively severe damage, making it a key target in control work.

Agricultural control is the foundational part of disease prevention and control. In production, it is advisable to choose varieties with relatively good disease resistance, practice crop rotation with gramineous crops, and avoid repeated continuous cropping year after year. Before sowing, carry out seed treatment properly, maintain rational close planting, apply fertilizer scientifically, pay attention to increasing phosphorus and potassium fertilizer and controlling the amount of nitrogen fertilizer, and prevent plants from excessive late-season vegetative growth that reduces disease resistance.

Field management is equally important. Promptly clearing ditches and draining water to reduce field humidity can significantly lessen the occurrence of many diseases; combined with intertillage and weeding, remove old yellow leaves and diseased leaves, and carry diseased residues out of the field for disposal to reduce sources of pathogen spread. When central diseased plants are found, they should be pulled out promptly to prevent the disease from spreading to the surrounding area.

Chemical control should adhere to early detection and early application. Strengthen field inspections during periods when diseases are prone to occur, choose fungicides according to the symptoms after they appear, apply pesticides according to product instructions, and pay attention to rotating pesticides to delay the development of resistance. Timely supplementary control after rain and deep plowing of the land after harvest help reduce the pathogen base for the following year and ensure stable yield and a good harvest of rape.
