II You 838 is a rice variety introduced by the Seed and Seedling Branch of Hunan Yahua Seed Industry from the Sichuan Institute of Nuclear Technology Application. It passed the approval of the Hunan Provincial Crop Variety Approval Committee in March 2003. It is suitable for cultivation as mid-season rice in the province. The plant height of this variety is about 120 cm. The stems are thick and strong, the main stem has 17-18 leaves, the flag leaf is erect, and the leaf sheath is purple. It is tolerant to fertilizer and resistant to lodging, and retains good color in the later stage. II You 725 is a new high-quality medium-maturing late-season hybrid rice combination bred by the Mianyang Agricultural Science Research Institute of Sichuan Province. In production, this combination shows characteristics such as large panicles with many grains, high yield potential, good grain quality, strong resistance and good adaptability. 1. High yield level In 1997, it participated in the Sichuan Province production trial, planted in different ecological zones of Chengdu, Weiyuan, Bazhong, Wusheng and Zhongjiang, with an average yield of 8.85 t/hm2, an increase of 8.57% over Shanyou 63; in 1997, it was planted as a demonstration on 40 hm2 in Jiepai Town, An County, and through multi-point yield measurement and acceptance, the yield reached 9.345 t/hm2, an increase of 13.78% over Shanyou 63. From 1998 to 1999, it participated in the Hubei Province regional trial, with an average yield of 9.15 t/hm2, an increase of 4.28% over the control Shanyou 63. II You 3027 is a hybrid late indica rice bred by the Institute of Nuclear Agricultural Sciences of Zhejiang University and the Jinhua City Seed Company. The average total growth period is 134.8 days.
=In the 1995-1996 two-year hybrid late indica rice regional trials in Jinhua City, the average yield per 667 m2 was 442.6 kg and 498.3 kg respectively. In the 1997 production trial, the average yield per 667 m2 was 422.8 kg, an increase of 7.9% over Shanyou 10. It is moderately resistant to rice blast, and its resistance to bacterial leaf blight is superior to that of Shanyou 10. -
