Jiudao 27 was bred by the Rice Research Institute of the Jilin City Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Introduction to the Characteristics and Traits of the Xinmai 18 Wheat Variety
Breeding institution: Xinxiang City Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Henan Province. Passed national approval in 2004 (National Approval Wheat 2004005). Characteristics and traits: a semi-winter, short-stalked, medium-maturing variety. Robust, with semi-erect seedlings, good cold resistance, strong tillering ability, and a high spike-setting rate; in spring it joints and elongates slightly late, but the differentiation of the two poles is rapid. Breeding institution: Jilin City Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Jilin Province, China. Variety source: Shonai 324 / Fujikei 138. Review opinion of the National Variety Approval Committee: This variety is a conventional japonica rice variety. When planted in Jilin Province, its whole growth period is about 153 days, similar to "Qiuguang". It shows high and stable yield, moderate resistance to rice blast, and medium grain quality.
