Ganoderma lucidum is a traditional medicinal fungus, with its fruiting bodies used as medicine. Artificial cultivation mostly adopts the bagged substrate method or the short log method. Growing Ganoderma lucidum has certain requirements for the site, temperature and humidity. Mastering the management and cultivation steps well is the key to obtaining high-quality fruiting bodies.

Before planting, the culture substrate must first be prepared. Commonly used materials such as sawdust and wheat bran are mixed, bagged and sterilized. After thorough sterilization, the bags are carried while still hot to a clean environment for inoculation. After inoculation, the mycelium growth stage begins. During this period, the spawn bags should be placed in a warm, dark environment, keeping the temperature stable and avoiding frequent moving. After the mycelium has fully colonized the bags, they are transferred to fruiting body management.

The fruiting stage is the focus of management. At this time, air humidity needs to be increased, ventilation strengthened, and scattered light provided. If humidity is too low, the cap is prone to becoming hard, while poor ventilation may cause contamination by foreign fungi and deformed mushrooms. When the fruiting bodies mature and the edge of the cap turns from white to brown and begins to release spores, they can be harvested in batches. After harvesting, continued good care can also promote the growth of the next flush.

Daily management should also emphasize environmental hygiene, disinfecting the site in advance to reduce sources of contaminating fungi and pests. If infected bags or abnormal growth of Ganoderma lucidum are found, they should be isolated and handled promptly to prevent spread. As long as you operate patiently according to the steps and observe carefully, growing Ganoderma lucidum is not difficult.
