The Ginrin Sanshoku koi is one of the most ornamental varieties among the many types of koi. It is based on the Sanshoku koi, with its body surface covered in silvery scales that carry a metallic luster. Under light, these scales refract a diamond-like sparkle, making the fish look especially dazzling. It therefore combines the classic coloration of the Sanshoku koi with the brilliant texture of Ginrin scales, and is deeply loved by ornamental fish enthusiasts.

From an appreciation standpoint, the Ginrin Sanshoku koi is judged by a pure white base, vivid crimson, and clearly defined sumi (black) markings. A snow-white base is considered best, the red patches should be evenly distributed, and the black patches mostly appear on the back and above the lateral line. The Ginrin scales should be neatly arranged with a natural luster; the stronger the sparkle of the scales, the better the overall ornamental effect.

In terms of keeping, the Ginrin Sanshoku koi has relatively high water quality requirements. The water body must remain clean with sufficient dissolved oxygen, and water should be changed regularly to maintain a stable water quality environment. Sudden changes in water temperature can easily cause discomfort to the fish, so care should be taken that the temperature difference is not too great when changing water. For daily feeding, a nutritionally balanced special feed can be chosen, fed at fixed times and in fixed amounts, to avoid leftover bait spoiling the water quality.

During the keeping process, attention should also be paid to common parasites and diseases such as white spot disease, anchor worms, and trichodina. Observe the fish's swimming state and body surface changes frequently, and isolate and treat them promptly if abnormalities are found. Because of its bright body color and elegant swimming posture, the Ginrin Sanshoku koi is often used to accent courtyard ponds and landscape water features, and has high ornamental and collection value.
