The Golden Matsuba Koi is a distinctive variety in the koi family, a representative of the golden line of Matsuba koi. Its entire body is covered with metallic golden scales, and the center of each scale is slightly darker; when viewed from above along the back, the scales join into lines resembling pine needles, which is why it gets the name Matsuba (pine needle).

The greatest ornamental appeal of this variety lies in the arrangement and luster of its scales. A high-quality Golden Matsuba Koi has a clean, bright head color, neat and clearly defined Matsuba patterns along the back, and flowing golden light as it swims, making it highly ornamental. It is often kept in garden fish ponds or large aquariums, and its top-down viewing effect is especially outstanding.

To keep Golden Matsuba Koi, maintain good water quality, equip a complete filtration system, and change the water regularly to avoid the accumulation of leftover food and feces in the water. Feeding should mainly consist of high-quality compound feed, given at fixed times and in fixed amounts, with the amount appropriately reduced when the water temperature is low. Keep the water temperature as stable as possible and avoid large fluctuations over a short period, so as to prevent stress in the fish.

In daily management, observe the fish's condition more often. If you find white spots, congestion, rubbing against the tank, or a decline in appetite on the body surface, these may be common problems such as white spot disease, Lernaea, or fish lice, and timely isolation and treatment are needed. Before new fish are introduced into the pond, it is best to keep them separately for observation for a period, and only combine them with the pond after confirming they are healthy, which can effectively reduce the risk of infection.
