Enhanced potassium sulfate is a potassium fertilizer made by using potassium sulfate as the base material and then adding enhancer ingredients such as humic acid, amino acids, secondary and trace elements, or microbial active substances. It retains the basic characteristics of potassium sulfate - high potassium content, no chlorine, and sulfur content - while the enhancer substances help reduce the loss and fixation of potassium, making nutrient use efficiency higher. Simply put, it is an upgraded, quality-improved version of ordinary potassium sulfate.

Compared with potassium chloride, this type of fertilizer has a very low chloride ion content, making it suitable for chlorine-sensitive or chlorine-avoiding crops such as tobacco, potato, grape, citrus, watermelon, and tea. The sulfur element it contains is also relatively friendly to sulfur-loving crops such as rapeseed, garlic, and onion. The enhancer ingredients can also play a role in nourishing roots and improving soil, and when used in sandy soil with poor water- and fertilizer-holding capacity or in old greenhouse areas that have been planted year after year, the effect is often more stable.

In terms of application, it can be used as a base fertilizer or as a topdressing, and can also be applied with irrigation water or used in drip irrigation systems. Potassium is easily fixed in heavy clay soil, so it should be applied deeply into the soil layer where roots are concentrated; band application and hole application save more fertilizer than surface broadcasting. When used as a topdressing, pay attention to controlling the concentration and avoid fertilizer liquid directly contacting roots and young tender parts. The fruit expansion stage and sugar accumulation stage are peak periods of crop potassium demand, and supplementing potassium fertilizer at this time clearly helps improve quality.

When purchasing, make sure to choose legitimate products; the packaging should indicate potassium oxide content, chloride ion content, and the composition of enhancer substances. Preliminary identification of authenticity can be done by examining appearance and observing water solubility performance. The price of enhanced potassium sulfate is generally higher than ordinary potassium sulfate and potassium chloride, so it should be selected reasonably according to crop type and soil conditions; there is no need to follow trends blindly. Using it on chlorine-avoiding crops and high-value cash crops better reflects its advantages.
