Potassium sulfate is a high-quality potassium fertilizer with a relatively high potassium content. Potassium sulfate is a white crystalline substance, with a K2O content generally between 50% and 52%. It is easily soluble in water, has low hygroscopicity, and does not easily cake, giving it better physical properties than potassium chloride.
Potassium sulfate is widely suitable for various soils and various crops, especially for chloride-sensitive crops; potassium sulfate can replace potassium chloride and serve as a good potassium fertilizer.
The application of potassium sulfate should note the following three points:
    (1) It can be used as a base fertilizer. When potassium sulfate is used as a base fertilizer in dry fields, it must be applied deeply and covered with soil, to reduce the fixation of potassium in crystalline form and to facilitate absorption by crop roots and improve the utilization rate of the potassium fertilizer.
    (2) Potassium sulfate can also be used as a top dressing. Since potassium has relatively low mobility in the soil, it should be concentrated in band application or hole application into the soil layer where the roots are denser, to promote absorption.
    (3) For sulfur-demanding crops of the cruciferous family such as rapeseed and stock, the effect is relatively good, and it should be given priority in allocation and use.
