Potassium dihydrogen phosphate compound fertilizer is a type of high-concentration compound fertilizer based mainly on phosphorus and potassium nutrients, usually using potassium dihydrogen phosphate as the primary source of phosphorus and potassium, or produced according to its phosphorus-potassium ratio design. Unlike nitrogen-based compound fertilizers, this type of fertilizer generally contains no nitrogen or very little nitrogen, has a relatively high phosphorus and potassium content, and has good water solubility; it is often used for topdressing of cash crops and protected cultivation.

In terms of nutrient characteristics, the phosphorus in it is easily absorbed by crop roots and leaves, while potassium is rapidly supplied in ionic form, which helps with the translocation of photosynthetic products and fruit expansion. This type of fertilizer has a relatively low salt index and causes little irritation to roots, making it suitable for integrated water-fertilizer methods such as flushing application, drip irrigation and sprinkler irrigation, and it can also be diluted for foliar spraying.

In application, potassium dihydrogen phosphate compound fertilizer is mostly scheduled for the middle and late stages of crop growth, such as the flowering and fruiting stages of fruit trees, vegetables and melons, to promote flower bud differentiation, protect flowers and fruits and improve fruit quality. When used as a topdressing, the amount and concentration should be well controlled; foliar spraying should be carried out in the morning or evening on sunny days, avoiding periods of high temperature and strong light, to reduce the risk of fertilizer burn.

When purchasing, check the nutrient labeling on the packaging, and be careful to distinguish it from potassium sulfate-type and potassium chloride-type compound fertilizers to avoid mistakenly buying ordinary phosphorus-potassium compound fertilizer as high-purity potassium dihydrogen phosphate. During storage, it should be placed in a dry and cool place to prevent moisture and caking, and it should be used up as soon as possible after opening to maintain stable fertilizer efficacy.
