What is the difference between compound fertilizer and blended fertilizer? Please explain. For the difference between compound fertilizer and blended fertilizer, refer to the following introduction:
Compound fertilizer is a chemical fertilizer made by chemical methods or (and) mixing methods that contains any two or three of the crop nutrient elements nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. Its role is to meet the comprehensive and balanced needs for multiple nutrients required by agriculture under different production conditions. It differs from organic fertilizer, which is a type of fertilizer made from natural organic matter through microbial decomposition or fermentation. In China it is also called farmyard manure. Its characteristics are: wide sources of raw materials and large quantities; complete nutrients but low content; slow and long-lasting fertilizer effect, and it must be decomposed and transformed by microorganisms before it can be absorbed by plants; good effect on improving soil and building fertility. Commonly used natural fertilizer varieties include green manure, human excreta and urine, barnyard manure, compost, waterlogged compost, biogas fertilizer and waste fertilizer, etc.
Blended fertilizer, also known as BB fertilizer or dry mixed fertilizer, is a chemical fertilizer containing any two or three of the three nutrient elements nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. It is made from single fertilizers or compound fertilizers as raw materials through simple mechanical mixing, with no significant chemical reaction during the mixing process. The production technology of blended fertilizer is simple. In the United States, blending operations and fertilization operations are carried out on the same day as far as possible; in this case, the storage performance of the product does not need to be considered. In many countries, blended fertilizer still needs to be packaged and stored for a period of time, so the storage performance of the product is very important. All raw materials should be dry, uniform in granule size and high in strength, to prevent the product from absorbing moisture, caking and granule separation during storage and transportation.
