A Detailed Explanation of the Full Cultivation Process of the White Lingzhi Mushroom
The white lingzhi mushroom (Pleurotus nebrodensis) is a variety of mushroom that is widely distributed in China. Its fruiting body is mainly white, and because it looks quite similar to lingzhi (Ganoderma lucidum), it was named the white lingzhi mushroom. It has a bright, attractive color, tender flesh and rich nutrition, and has very high edible and medicinal value. So how should the white lingzhi mushroom be cultivated? Below, the editor brings you the cultivation techniques for the white lingzhi mushroom. Let's take a look together!

1. Preparation of the culture medium
Before cultivating the white lingzhi mushroom, we first need to prepare the culture medium. First, dissolve water-soluble substances such as sugar and urea in water. Then thoroughly mix various culture materials such as cottonseed hulls, sawdust and bran together and add them in to mix evenly. Pile them into a trapezoidal heap about 150 cm wide and high. On the heap, set up ventilation holes every 40 cm or so, with a hole diameter of about 8 cm, and on each side be sure to make two rows of ventilation holes. Then cover the heap with plastic film to retain moisture; the lower 40 cm or so does not need to be covered with film. When the heap temperature reaches about 70°C, begin turning the heap, and ferment for about one week, turning the heap at least 3 times.
2. Bagging at the right time
The cultivation method for the white lingzhi mushroom is generally based mainly on bag cultivation. Therefore, before bagging, attention should also be paid to selecting good cultivation bags. The cultivation bags should be mainly made of film made from materials such as polyethylene or polypropylene. The thickness should be kept at 0.05 cm, and the width and length should be controlled at about 16*35 cm respectively. Then put the already fermented culture medium into the cultivation bags and adjust the water. The moisture content of the culture medium should be kept at about 60%, and the pH value should be kept at 7.5. When bagging, first tie one end tightly, then evenly load the culture medium into the bag; 1 kg of culture medium per bag is sufficient.
3. Sterilization and inoculation
For the cultivation bags filled with culture medium, we must do a good job of disinfection and sterilization. The sterilization method is mainly high-temperature sterilization, lasting about 3 hours; if normal-pressure sterilization is needed, then about 15 hours is required. After sterilization, place the cultivation bags into the inoculation room to cool down. When the temperature of the cultivation bags gradually drops to 30°C, then open the bag openings. Then ensure a sterile environment and inoculate the spawn from both ends of the bag. The inoculation amount should not be too much, and should be kept at about 1/10 of the culture medium.
4. Spawn-running management
After inoculation is completed, we should place the spawn bags into the cultivation room. Stack them on the bed frames, but note that the cultivation room should be disinfected before the spawn bags are placed in it; the disinfectant can be selected as carbendazim, etc. After placing the spawn bags in, properly disinfect once every week. The temperature in the cultivation room should be kept at about 25°C, and the air humidity should not be lower than 70%. The white lingzhi mushroom should be cultivated mainly in the dark; after half a month of spawn running, when mycelium has grown all over the material surface at both ends of the spawn bag, begin turning the heap. Generally after about one month of cultivation, the mycelium can cover the entire spawn bag.
