How to Make Eggplants Keep Flowering and Fruiting Continuously? Master These Methods
Eggplant is a common sight in our daily market; it is delicious and nutritious, and is deeply loved by people. However, after eggplant flowers and sets fruit, the root system's absorption capacity weakens, and pests and diseases flare up more and more severely, causing a sharp drop in flowering and fruiting, smaller fruits, and poorer marketability. So is there a way to make eggplants flower and fruit continuously, and thereby increase yield? Let's find out together below.

1. Timely topdressing
After eggplants flower and set fruit, a nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium compound fertilizer and high-quality organic fertilizer should be drenched around the roots once every 15-20 days to protect the plant's vigor, so that the plant does not decline prematurely due to insufficient nutrients. Each time, apply 10-15 kg of decomposed farmyard manure and 8-10 kg of nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium compound fertilizer per mu, diluted with clean water or decomposed manure water at 100-150 times, and drench the soil, which can restore plant vigor as quickly as possible and promote the plant to flower and fruit again.
2. Foliar topdressing
During the flowering and fruiting period of eggplant, spray once every 7-10 days with a mixture of 0.1% magnesium sulfate, 0.2% urea, 0.3% monopotassium phosphate, and 3000 times Huangjia natural brassin, or spray 800 times vegetable-specific Gaomeishi organic humic acid active liquid fertilizer. Spray 2-3 times continuously to rapidly raise the nutrient level of the leaves, keep the leaf color dark green, prevent leaf yellowing, delay plant senescence, promote continuous flowering and fruiting, and extend the harvest period.
3. Earthing up
During the flowering and fruiting period of eggplant, decomposed farmyard manure, pond mud, burned soil, or other fresh soil-fertilizer mixtures can be earthed up around the plant roots, 2-3 kg per plant, with a thickness of about 3-5 cm. This covers the exposed roots, protects the root system, prevents root decline, enhances the root system's absorption capacity, and promotes continuous flowering and fruiting of the plant.
4. Pest and disease control
During the flowering and fruiting period, eggplant can suffer from gray mold, phytophthora blight, aphids, tea yellow mites, whiteflies, shoot borers, and other pests and diseases, which affect plant growth, worsen plant decline, and in severe cases cause a sharp drop in yield or even total crop failure. Preventive measures should be taken well: spray once every half month with a mixture of 1000 times Nongdile and 1000 times Sumilex, or a mixture of 1000 times Lorsban and 1000 times Meiteiling for control, which can control them effectively. Spray 2-3 times continuously, evenly spraying all leaves and fruits, until water droplets begin to drip down. If rain occurs within 4 hours after spraying, spray again to improve the control effect.
