Cultivation Methods for King Oyster Mushroom

King oyster mushroom (Pleurotus eryngii) is a common and delicious edible mushroom that can often be seen on people's dining tables. It is a daily consumable mushroom and is well liked in the market. If you want to grow it to earn good economic returns, you must learn to grow it yourself. Please pay attention to the following content to understand it.

1. Planting Time

King oyster mushroom is a low-temperature mushroom. Generally, in the north it can be planted except in summer, but in the south it is generally best to start cultivation in winter, around November. Other regions can plant according to actual conditions. However, many are now grown in controlled facilities with fully automatic temperature control, so it can be planted at any time.

2. Spawn Production and Inoculation

Usually test tubes are used. Put the culture medium disinfection solution into the test tubes, place them at an angle, and let them cool into a slant before starting inoculation. After about a week they will generally be fully covered. Then make the culture material, generally using bran, cottonseed hulls, gypsum powder, and a small amount of sugar. Sprinkle some water and mix together, then sprinkle some chemicals and repeatedly crush and press, maintaining 70% moisture. Then bag it, filling long cylindrical bags, and then put all the bagged material into a high-temperature steaming boiler and steam it overnight. After it cools, it can be inoculated and planted.

3. Fruiting

Stack the mushroom bags in a clean, moist greenhouse, sprinkle water once a day to maintain 80% air humidity, then adjust to a temperature of 15 to 20 degrees to promote fruiting. After the young mushrooms form fruiting bodies, their growth inside the bag is obstructed, so you can artificially make a small opening to let them emerge from the bag surface, or untie the bag openings at both ends. During the development period of the young mushrooms, spray water at regular times every day, raising the humidity to 80%, to promote the young mushrooms' fruiting bodies to grow and mature. It takes about half a month for the king oyster mushroom fruiting bodies to mature.

The complete cultivation method is the content described above, so as long as you follow this operating procedure, there should be no problem growing high-quality mushrooms. So the cultivation method described above should, I believe, be no problem for everyone.
