Cultivation Techniques and Management Methods for Pseudolarix Bark
Pseudolarix bark is the dried root bark and the bark near the roots of Pseudolarix amabilis (golden larch), a plant in the pine family. It has bactericidal and antibacterial effects and is also a medicinal material. At present, the main producing areas of pseudolarix bark are Jiangsu, Anhui, Zhejiang, Hunan, Hubei and other places in China. So do you know how pseudolarix bark is propagated? How should pseudolarix bark be planted to grow well? How is field management carried out? Below is what the editor wants to share with you today: the cultivation techniques for pseudolarix bark. Let's learn together.

1. Site selection and land preparation
Pseudolarix bark has characteristics such as preferring warmth, shade and moisture, being intolerant of cold, and avoiding strong light. Therefore, when choosing a planting site for pseudolarix bark, we need to decide based on its growth habits. Generally, we choose semi-shaded sandy loam with fertile soil, rich humus content, good water source conditions, good fertilizer and water retention, good soil permeability and good drainage for planting. Land preparation should be carried out together with basal fertilizer, and the basal fertilizer is mainly organic fertilizer, with the amount per mu generally controlled at about 1,500 kilograms. Finally, break up the soil clods finely, level the ground, then open furrows and make beds, and wait for planting.
2. Propagation methods
Although pseudolarix bark can also be propagated by seeds, its growth and development speed is very slow, so in ordinary cultivation we basically use the cutting propagation method. Cutting propagation is generally carried out in spring or summer each year. First, select healthy rhizomes or stems of pseudolarix bark that are free of pests and diseases and of good quality; then cut the cuttings into small sections of 5 cm, ensuring that each small section has two to three buds; finally, insert the cuttings at a row spacing of 15 cm and a plant spacing of 2 cm, and water once.
3. Transplanting seedlings and planting out
After pseudolarix bark is propagated by cuttings, it generally needs to be cultivated for two to three months before several new roots grow. Only when the pseudolarix bark seedlings grow to about 10 to 15 cm can we transplant them. When transplanting, they are generally planted out at a reasonable density so as to ensure the later growth of pseudolarix bark, with row spacing controlled at 25 to 30 cm and plant spacing controlled at about 20 to 25 cm.
4. Field management
After planting out and survival, we should ensure at least three to four cultivations and weedings every day. The timing of cultivation is generally determined according to the specific conditions such as the growth of pseudolarix bark, the growth of weeds in the field, and changes in soil permeability caused by rain and watering. Topdressing should be carried out at least two to three times a year. It is determined according to the growth period of pseudolarix bark, and generally nitrogen fertilizer is the main type, used together with an appropriate amount of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. Then attention should be paid to moisture retention, with watering carried out at irregular intervals. In addition, during the growth process, pseudolarix bark also needs moderate light control, using scattered light, with intensity generally around 20% to 30%. Finally, there is pest and disease control. The most important is generally leaf spot disease, which can be prevented by spraying with Tuzet.
Growing pseudolarix bark is actually very simple, because its adaptability to the environment is still relatively strong, but during the cultivation process we also need to pay attention to some issues so as to ensure that pseudolarix bark grows better.
