What are the ways to improve potato cultivation efficiency
Potato is what we call potato in daily life. Potato is very popular in China, not only as a vegetable but also as a major food crop. It has a relatively wide planting area, and now potato yields are getting higher and higher, so the competitive pressure is also growing. Many growers want to improve cultivation efficiency but do not know how to do it. Below, the editor will briefly introduce the methods for improving potato cultivation efficiency. Let's take a look!

1. Seed soaking and sprouting
Before sowing seed potatoes, good seed soaking and sprouting work should be done. First cut the seed potatoes into pieces; each kilogram of seed potatoes can be cut into about 50 pieces. Each seed piece should be kept as uniform in size as possible and must have more than one eye. Then wash the potato pieces clean and soak them in agents such as carbendazim for about a quarter of an hour. Remove them and let them dry, then about three weeks before sowing, place the potato pieces in wet sand for sprouting. Keep the temperature at about 15°C, and sow once sprouts appear. This can effectively increase the germination rate, enhance the growth capacity of potatoes, and naturally improve cultivation efficiency.
2. Sowing at the right time
There are also requirements for the sowing time of potatoes, generally in February to March each year. The sowing time should not be too early or too late. If it is too early, the temperature is too low, which will inhibit the sprouting of potato pieces and reduce cultivation efficiency. If sowing is too late, the maturity time will naturally be delayed, possibly missing the market period, which also affects cultivation efficiency. After sowing, cover with a layer of plastic film and keep the plant and row spacing at about 60*25 cm. The growth cycle of potatoes is relatively short; under normal cultivation, they can be harvested in May to June.
3. Environmental control
Potatoes have certain requirements for the environment during growth. And if you want to increase yield and cultivation efficiency, then the cultivation environment must be well controlled. Potatoes have a relatively large demand for water during growth, and the soil moisture content should be controlled at about 55%. Sufficient water can effectively promote the growth of potatoes. Therefore, we must water frequently, especially during high temperatures in summer. If water is insufficient, it will have a great impact on their growth. Then also reasonably adjust the soil, fertilization methods, etc., to create a suitable environment for potato growth.
4. Reasonable harvesting
As the harvest season approaches, we should frequently observe the growth of potatoes. When the leaves of the potato plants are found to be turning yellow, it means the potatoes have gradually matured. Then 30 days before harvesting, water and fertilizer should be appropriately stopped to avoid excessive nutrients and water, which would reduce the storage capacity of potatoes. During harvesting, the harvesting speed should be appropriately increased to prevent direct sunlight on the potatoes, which would cause the skin to turn green, reduce commercial value, and affect cultivation efficiency.
The above is a brief introduction to how to improve potato cultivation efficiency. Actually, improving potato cultivation efficiency is relatively simple. As long as daily management is done well and pest and disease control is strengthened, obvious results can be achieved. That is all for today's introduction.
