What should be noted when planting soybeans? Keep these key points in mind
Soybeans have strong adaptability to the environment, are very easy to grow, and have a high survival rate when planted. When growing soybeans, of course, we want high yield and good quality, so we need to master the correct planting techniques. So do you know what issues need attention when planting soybeans? Let's take a look together with the editor at the key points for planting soybeans.

1. Time
We still need to pay attention to the timing of soybean planting. In northern China, soybeans are generally sown from the end of April to mid-May each year; while in the south, soybeans are generally planted from the end of March to early April each year. However, in some areas, several seasons of soybeans can be planted in a year, that is, planting can be done from January to May each year, but this generally only applies to areas with relatively mild climate throughout the year.
2. Density
Planting density has a great impact on the growth, yield, and quality of soybeans. Different planting sites have different levels of fertility and differences in terrain, and the soybean varieties planted are also different, so the planting density we need to determine will also change accordingly. In other words, planting density is not fixed. For soil with sufficient fertility, generally 15,000 to 20,000 plants are planted per mu; for soil with medium fertility, generally 20,000 to 30,000 plants can be planted per mu; and for poor soil, generally 30,000 to 40,000 plants per mu. In fact, this also means that the row spacing is generally 30 to 40 cm, and the plant spacing is about 15 to 20 cm.
3. Chemical control
Many people may not understand what chemical control is. In fact, chemical control means using fertilization to regulate the growth of soybean plants. Soybeans like fertilizer, but during their growth process we still need to control the amount of fertilizer and use fertilizer types scientifically. In the early stage of soybean growth, we can appropriately use nitrogen fertilizer to promote plant growth, but by the middle and late stages, we need to supplement phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, and use as little nitrogen fertilizer as possible to avoid excessive vegetative growth and reduce soybean yield.
4. Cultivation
During the growth of soybeans, we also need to carry out scientific cultivation, which is also very beneficial to soybean growth. The first cultivation is generally done when thinning and replanting soybean seedlings for final planting. During this cultivation, we need to clean up the weeds in the field. The second cultivation is after the plants have survived and become established, loosening the soil for the soybeans, which can improve soil permeability and promote soybean growth. Later cultivation needs to be carried out according to specific conditions, but note that cultivation cannot be done during flowering and pod setting.
5. Water
Soybeans have strong drought resistance, so appropriate drought is acceptable, but there must never be water accumulation in the field, or excessive humidity, as these have a great impact on soybeans. This also shows that we generally only need to water during drought or when the temperature is very high, but when there is a lot of rainfall, we must drain water in time.
6. Leaf removal
After soybeans flower and set pods, we should appropriately remove leaves. This can reduce nutrient consumption, allow nutrients to be supplied in a concentrated way, promote the growth of soybean pods, and improve soybean quality. At this stage, if there is a lack of nutrients, it is very easy for soybeans to be undersized, seriously reducing yield and quality. But we generally remove relatively dense leaves, or remove some of the leaves at the bottom.
When planting soybeans, we must pay attention to the above points, otherwise the soybeans planted will more or less be affected. For growers, a reduction in yield and quality is directly related to their economic returns, so it is crucial.
