How to Fertilize Kudzu Root? Master the Right Methods for High Yields
Kudzu root is a plant very similar to cassava, but kudzu root is a medicinal herb with both medicinal and edible uses. In our daily lives, kudzu root is often used to reduce fever, stop diarrhea, promote fluid production and quench thirst, and promote eruption of rashes; it is also very effective when used for dry heaving. Now the scale of kudzu root cultivation is constantly expanding, so if you want to improve the yield and quality of kudzu root, fertilization can be said to be a very key step. Today let's take a look at the fertilization techniques for kudzu root.

1. Base fertilizer
The growth of kudzu root requires a large amount of nutrients, and base fertilizer is the foundation for its high yield, so it must be applied in sufficient quantity. Base fertilizer is generally applied together with land preparation, and it can be said to account for half of the total fertilizer application; it is mainly organic fertilizer, combined with an appropriate amount of inorganic fertilizer, broadcast over the soil. When applying base fertilizer, we need to mix the organic fertilizer and inorganic fertilizer evenly, then spread it over the selected planting site, carry out land preparation, and fully mix the fertilizer with the soil to improve soil fertility.
2. Uniform seedling fertilizer
When the kudzu root seedlings have grown to about 20 cm, we need to carry out one topdressing. This topdressing needs to be done together with intertillage, weeding and loosening of the soil, mainly to promote the growth of kudzu root seedlings and ensure the uniformity of the seedlings in the field. Uniform seedling fertilizer is generally applied by watering with manure and urine water plus a small amount of compound fertilizer; it needs to be done in three applications, with each application controlled at about 200 jin, watered once every about 20 days. If conditions permit, you can also use seedling-promoting bacterial fertilizer, spraying once every week; after two consecutive applications, the effect is very obvious.
3. Growth fertilizer
In order to promote the growth of kudzu root, in the middle stage of kudzu root growth we also need to appropriately apply growth fertilizer, and at the same time control the growth of kudzu root vines, so that nutrients are concentrated and supplied to the roots, increasing the yield of kudzu root. The growth fertilizer for kudzu root is generally a ternary compound fertilizer of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium; we can apply it by watering with water, and can also apply it as topdressing by trenching and broadcasting, and the effects are all very good.
4. Later topdressing
Kudzu root needs multiple topdressings, as only then can it promote the thickening of kudzu root and improve its yield and quality. Generally, when the kudzu root tubers are forming, we need to apply manure and urine water in holes, and topdress once a month in the same way, for three consecutive applications. Next, for the fourth fertilization, it is best to use barnyard manure or plant ash for topdressing; of course, if these are really unavailable, inorganic fertilizer containing phosphorus and potassium can also be used instead, as this can promote the growth of kudzu root tubers.
Kudzu root is a crop with a relatively large fertilizer requirement, so during the planting process we must attach great importance to its fertilization. If kudzu root suffers from a fertilizer deficiency during growth, the impact on its yield and quality is very great. Do you all understand the fertilization of kudzu root now?
