Vegetables are a good thing for people, they are rich in vitamins, and are very helpful for boosting the body's resistance and balancing nutrition. The same is true for dogs, but not all vegetables are good for dogs; some vegetables can actually harm a dog's body if eaten. So, which vegetables can dogs not eat?

Potato. If green or grown in a green environment, neither humans nor dogs should eat raw potatoes. Raw potatoes and green potatoes may contain solanine alkaloids (solanine) that can cause vomiting, diarrhea and abnormal heartbeat in dogs.

Tomato. The solanine and some natural toxins contained in tomatoes can harm dogs and cause symptoms such as dilated pupils, tremors, seizures, vomiting, diarrhea and drooling.

Carrot. Carrots contain vitamin A, but eating carrots every day with every meal easily leads to excess; excess can instead cause vitamin A poisoning in dogs, and the poisoning is chronic, making symptoms very hard to detect. Generally, eating them once every 2~3 days is already enough, so dietary supplementation must also be in moderation.

Some vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage and cauliflower theoretically contain elements that can cause degeneration of a dog's thyroid organ.
