The Central Asia Grain, Oil, Storage and Processing Industrial Park project in Lanzhou New Area was officially signed recently. The project mainly revolves around imported grain from Kazakhstan, expanding the upstream and downstream industrial chains, and building a feed mill, a flour mill, a dried noodle factory, a barley malt plant, a central kitchen for staple foods, and storage and packaging plants for minor oil products. After completion, the project is expected to achieve an annual import and export volume of 4.35 billion yuan. It is understood that the project is located in the Phase II land of the Lanzhou New Area Comprehensive Bonded Zone, with a total area of 866,000 sq m, about 1,300 mu, and a planned total investment of 2.3 billion yuan. It will be operated by Lanzhou New Area Yashang Agricultural Development Co., Ltd., jointly established by central state-owned enterprises and private enterprises including Zhonghua Kangpu, Beijing Bohua and Yaliang Group.

A relevant official of Lanzhou New Area said that Gansu's annual grain demand is about 7 million tons, while its own grain production is only 4 million tons. Kazakhstan has abundant and high-quality grain resources, which can effectively fill Gansu's grain gap.
