Four Key Points for Spring Management of Greenhouse Cucumbers
Cucumbers are grown very widely across China and are popular with many people. Cucumbers can be eaten raw or stir-fried, and when sliced and applied to the face they also have a certain beauty and whitening effect. As spring gradually arrives, cucumber management work also becomes busier. So what are the management points to note for greenhouse-grown cucumbers in spring? Below, the editor will introduce them to you, let's take a look!

1. Land preparation and fertilization
In spring, cucumbers mostly exist as seedlings. The roots and stems of seedlings have a high water content, so improper management can easily cause them to break. Cucumbers also have a relatively high demand for water, but their drought tolerance is rather weak. Therefore, when preparing the land in spring, we should make it slightly sloped to facilitate planting and drainage management. Then we should apply sufficient base fertilizer, applying decomposed farmyard manure in layers during land preparation to increase the organic matter content in the soil. We must ensure the soil environment and nutrients are suitable for cucumber growth, creating a good growing environment for the cucumbers.
2. Soil disinfection
If ridge cultivation has been used for a long time, the amount of bacteria in the soil will be relatively high, so we also need to do a good job of disinfection when planting. Control the dosage according to the soil area. The main disinfectants are fulvic acid salt and carbendazim. When disinfecting, it is not advisable to sprinkle the disinfectant directly into the soil. Instead, mix it thoroughly with fine sand, then evenly sprinkle it on the ridge heads, and then harrow finely and form ridges. When forming ridges, pay attention to controlling the specifications to promote cucumber growth and facilitate farming operations in the middle and later stages.
3. Timely planting
Every spring is a relatively good time to plant cucumbers. Before planting, we first need to complete the first two preparatory tasks, then dig water ditches around the ridges. Plant one row on each side of the water ditch. When planting, pay attention to the planting density. The plant and row spacing should be controlled at about 35*55 cm. It should not be planted too densely, to prevent them from affecting each other's growth. When the seedlings have successfully emerged and are ready to be lifted, use a sterilizing agent for one sterilization treatment. Then, after all planting is successful, carry out one closed-greenhouse fumigation treatment to avoid pest problems.
4. Careful management
When the cucumber seedlings grow to about 32 cm, pay attention to hanging the vines to improve air circulation in the garden and the growth rate of the cucumbers. Then water at the appropriate time every morning. If the leaves are found to be wilted at noon, water promptly as well. Also pay attention to observation. After female flowers fade, apply topdressing in time, mainly with compound fertilizers such as urea. This promotes cucumber swelling and increases yield. Then control the daytime temperature at about 26-27 degrees, lower it to about 16 degrees at night, and pay attention to ventilation to reduce humidity and temperature.
The above is a brief introduction to the four key points for spring management of greenhouse cucumbers. Spring is generally the sowing season for cucumbers. Therefore, their management work is very important, so everyone must pay close attention when planting. That is all for today's introduction. This article is for reference only.
