Four Notes on Spring Management of Greenhouse Cucumbers

Cucumbers are distributed very widely in China and are welcomed by many people. Cucumbers can not only be eaten raw or stir-fried, but when cut into slices and applied to the face, they also have a certain beauty and whitening effect. As spring gradually arrives now, cucumber management work is also gradually becoming busier. So what management notes are there for cucumbers grown in greenhouses in spring? Below, the editor will introduce them to everyone. Let's take a look!

1. Land preparation and fertilization

In spring, cucumbers mostly exist as seedlings. The roots and stems of seedlings have a high water content, so improper management can easily cause them to break. Cucumbers also have a relatively large demand for water, but their drought tolerance is relatively weak. Therefore, when preparing the land in spring, we should make it appropriately sloped to facilitate planting, drainage, and management work. Then sufficient base fertilizer should be applied. During land preparation, decomposed farmyard manure should be applied in layers to increase the organic matter content in the soil. It is necessary to ensure that the soil environment and nutrients are suitable for cucumber growth and to create a good growing environment for cucumbers.

2. Soil disinfection

If ridge cultivation has been used for a long time, then the amount of bacteria in the soil is relatively high, so we also need to do a good job of disinfection when planting. Control the dosage according to the soil area. The main disinfectant solutions are mainly fulvic acid salt and carbendazim. When disinfecting, it is not suitable to sprinkle the disinfectant solution directly into the soil. It should be fully mixed with fine sand and then evenly sprinkled on the ridge head, and then the ridges should be carefully harrowed and formed. When forming ridges, attention should be paid to controlling the specifications well to promote cucumber growth and facilitate farming operations in the middle and later stages.

3. Timely transplanting

Every spring is a relatively good time to plant cucumbers. Before planting, we first need to complete the first two preparatory tasks, and then dig water ditches around the ridges. Plant one row on each side of the water ditch. When transplanting, pay attention to the planting density. The plant spacing and row spacing should be controlled at about 35*55 cm. It should not be planted too densely, to prevent affecting each other's growth. When the seedlings have successfully emerged and are ready to be lifted, a sterilizing agent should be used once for sterilization. Then after all transplanting is successful, do a greenhouse sealing and fumigation once more to avoid pest damage.

4. Careful management

When the cucumber seedlings grow to about 32 cm, attention should be paid to hanging the vines to improve ventilation and light penetration in the garden and increase the growth rate of cucumbers. Then water timely every morning. If the leaves are found to be in a wilting state at noon, water promptly as well. Also pay attention to observation. After female flowers wither and fall, topdress in time, mainly with compound fertilizers such as urea. Promote cucumber expansion and increase yield. Then control the daytime temperature at about 26-27 degrees, lower it to about 16 degrees at night, and pay attention to ventilation to reduce humidity and temperature.

The above is a brief introduction to the four notes on spring management of greenhouse cucumbers. Spring is generally the sowing season for cucumbers. Therefore, their management work is very important, so everyone must pay close attention when planting. That is all for today's introduction. This article is for reference only.
