Xinlimei Radish Planting Technology

The Xinlimei radish has a light green outer skin, but its inner flesh is purplish red, so it is also called red-hearted radish. Xinlimei radish has various effects such as clearing heat and detoxifying, strengthening the stomach and aiding digestion, and has extremely high nutritional value. It can be served as a cold dressed dish, or used in soups and stir-fries. At present, the main growing area of Xinlimei radish in China is the Northeast region, so how should Xinlimei radish be planted? Let's take a look together below!

1. Choosing the planting site

Xinlimei radish is suitable for growing in a cool environment and has a relatively large demand for light, so when choosing a planting site we must pay attention to basic conditions such as temperature and light. We should choose slightly acidic sandy soil with deep, loose soil layers, rich humus, normal drainage and irrigation, and strong water and fertilizer retention. The choice of planting site is very important and will directly affect the growth of Xinlimei radish, so when choosing a planting site we must never be careless. Otherwise, it will reduce the yield and quality of Xinlimei radish and affect planting benefits.

2. Land preparation and sowing

After choosing the planting site, land preparation work should be done well by deep plowing it, and the deep plowing depth should be kept at about 30 cm, then sun-dry it and apply sufficient base fertilizer. Control the amount of fertilizer according to the planting area, and the fertilizer should mainly be decomposed farmyard manure. During growth, Xinlimei radish has a relatively large demand for potassium fertilizer, followed by nitrogen fertilizer, and finally phosphate fertilizer, so attention should also be paid to the application of nitrogen and potassium fertilizers. Xinlimei radish is usually sown by the hole sowing method. The sowing density should be controlled and the sowing holes dug well, with about 3 seeds placed in each sowing hole, then sufficient manure water should be poured in for sowing. After sowing, press and compact the soil, water thoroughly, improve the soil's moisture conservation capacity, appropriately spray herbicide to control weeds, and finally cover with a layer of straw to retain moisture and prevent soil compaction.

3. Field management

When the seedlings break through the soil and grow true leaves, thinning should begin, and then when 3 true leaves have grown, thinning should be carried out again, pulling out weak and dead seedlings to provide enough growing space for healthy strong seedlings. When the seedlings have grown 4 true leaves, final thinning can begin. After final thinning, cultivation and weeding work should be done well to prevent weeds from seizing the nutrients for seedling growth and affecting the normal growth of the seedlings. When using herbicide, pay attention to the dosage to prevent phytotoxicity to the seedlings. Then pay attention to doing a good job in pest and disease control, understand the common pests and diseases of Xinlimei radish, and do a good job in preventing various pests and diseases.

4. Water and fertilizer management

Xinlimei radish has a relatively large demand for water and is not strongly drought tolerant, so during the planting period of Xinlimei radish the soil should be kept moist. In particular, after sowing, sufficient water must be ensured, but after emergence the amount of watering should be controlled to promote the growth of the fleshy root. When the fleshy root is growing, it should also be watered appropriately to prevent excessive vegetative growth. During the seedling stage, less fertilizer should be applied. Usually topdressing is carried out only after final thinning. When topdressing, it is best to do it together with weeding and earthing up. During the growth period of Xinlimei radish, fertilizer should be applied at least 3 times.

The above is a brief introduction to Xinlimei radish planting technology. When planting Xinlimei radish, special attention should also be paid to pest and disease control. Pests and diseases have devastating harm to Xinlimei radish, reducing yield in mild cases and causing total crop failure in severe cases. That is all for today's introduction.
