What to pay attention to when watering button mushrooms
The button mushroom (Agaricus bisporus) is a type of fungus with high nutritional value, and it is grown over a fairly wide area. When growing button mushrooms, they are not as easy to manage as ordinary vegetables, especially when it comes to watering. Each growth stage of the button mushroom has a different watering method, and there are also many things to pay attention to. So what exactly should you pay attention to when watering button mushrooms? Let's take a look together below!

1. Watering to press down the mycelium
When growing button mushrooms, we should carefully observe their growth. This should be done after the mycelium gradually emerges from the mushroom bed. First, ventilate the mushroom house, keeping the airflow fairly strong so that the mycelium is exposed to the wind and lies down. Then water, paying attention to the amount of water; the amount of water per square meter must not exceed two jin, and water about twice a day. Make sure about half of the soil in the mushroom bed is thoroughly wet. After watering, along with ventilation, let about 5 mm of the soil in the mushroom bed dry slightly, which helps promote lateral growth of the mycelium within that soil layer and promotes the ripening of the button mushrooms.
2. Heavy spraying of mushroom-forming water
The mushroom-forming stage is an important period in the growth of button mushrooms, and the watering time for the mushroom-forming stage is about 3 days after the thicker mycelium-pressing water. We should carefully observe the moisture of the compost and the water content of the soil, and control the watering frequency and amount well. Generally, water about 6 jin per square meter of mushroom bed, but it must not all be applied at once; it should be applied in at least 4 rounds. Make sure the soil is thoroughly wet but that the water does not seep down. Because the amount of mushroom-forming water used is relatively large, pay attention to ventilation when watering to prevent excessive humidity from causing the button mushrooms to rot and affecting growing returns.
3. Fruiting water
Fruiting water has a closely related effect on both the yield and quality of button mushrooms, and its amount, method and precautions are similar to those of mushroom-forming water. However, pay attention to the water temperature; the water temperature should not be lower than the soil temperature, and it should be kept the same as the soil temperature as much as possible, to prevent too large a temperature difference from changing the growing temperature, which the button mushrooms cannot adapt to in time and which affects growth. Also, pay attention to spraying as the main method; where there are mushroom buds, do not water too much, to prevent water from seeping into the compost and reducing the nutrients in the compost, which would lead to insufficient nutrients for the growth of the button mushrooms.
4. Regular maintenance water
Maintenance water is the necessary watering work to ensure that the water needed for the growth of button mushrooms is met, and it should be done at least once a day. When watering, pay attention to factors such as the temperature of the mushroom house and air quality, and control the watering frequency and amount well. Keep the humidity inside the mushroom shed at around 90%, with the soil in a moist state. Also, as the fruiting bodies of the button mushrooms continue to grow, gradually increase the watering amount and frequency to meet the water needed for the growth of the fruiting bodies, and avoid water shortage and poor nutrition, which would hinder growth.
The above is a brief introduction to the precautions for watering button mushrooms. Watering work is very important for their growth and quality. If they lack water during growth, it will reduce the yield of button mushrooms and affect growing returns, so everyone must pay close attention. That is all for today's introduction.
