Detailed Explanation of the Key Points of Standardized Cultivation Techniques for Su Banxia
Su Banxia is a unique authentic Chinese medicinal herb of Huaibei City. According to the "Suzhou Prefecture Gazetteer" from the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty: "Su Banxia is best only in Sipu and Sunding (now within the territory of Huaibei City). Su Banxia is full of powder and white in color, and Beijing Tongrentang specifically requested Banxia from this place." Due to the influence of chemical herbicides, chemical fertilizers, pesticides and techniques and other factors, the resources of Su Banxia find it difficult to meet market demand. In order to revive the glory of our city's traditional Chinese medicinal materials, cultivate a pillar industry of medicinal materials, and realize the standardized cultivation of Su Banxia, it has become even more urgent and particularly important.
1. Land selection and land preparation. Banxia has no strict requirements for soil. Except for saline-alkali land, general soil is acceptable, and sandy loam is suitable. It can be planted in mulberry orchards, fruit orchards, or intercropped with tall-stalk crops. Apply base fertilizer: per 667 sq m, apply 5000 kg of farmyard manure, 100 kg of cake fertilizer and 60 kg of superphosphate. Plow shallowly and harrow finely, level the land and make beds 1-1.2 m wide to facilitate irrigation and drainage.
2. Tuber propagation. Select tubers with a diameter of 0.5-1.5 cm as seed. In the Huaibei area, planting is generally done in March in spring when the average temperature is about 10°C. Water thoroughly before planting. Soak the tubers in 5% plant ash liquid or 50% carbendazim 1000-fold solution for 2-4 hours. After drying, plant the tubers separately according to size, with a row spacing of 10-15 cm, a plant spacing of 2-5 cm, and a hole depth of 4-5 cm. Plant 2 pieces per hole with the buds pointing upward, cover with soil and rake level, and press slightly. The seed quantity per 667 sq m is about 75-100 kg.
