Introduction to the new potato variety E-Malingshu No. 5
Variety origin: A potato variety bred by the China Southern Potato Research Center in Enshi, Hubei, through crossbreeding with "393143-12" as the female parent and "NS51-5" as the male parent. Original code: T962-76. It passed the approval of the Hubei Provincial Crop Variety Approval Committee in 2005, with the variety approval number E Shen Shu 2005001.
Quality and yield: From 2003 to 2004, it participated in the Hubei Provincial Potato Variety Regional Trial. Quality testing showed a starch content of 18.90% and a dry matter content of 24.65%. The two-year regional trial average yield was 1873.4 kg per mu, an increase of 17.99% over the control E-Malingshu No. 3. Among them: in 2003, the yield was 1390 kg per mu, an increase of 9.36% over E-Malingshu No. 3, significant; in 2004, the yield was 2356.7 kg per mu, an increase of 23.75% over E-Malingshu No. 3, extremely significant.
Characteristics: Semi-spreading plant type, relatively tall plant, smaller leaves, relatively strong growth vigor. Stems and leaves green, corolla white, profuse flowering. Tuber set concentrated, tuber shape flat-round, yellow skin and white flesh, smooth skin, shallow eyes, storage-tolerant. Marketable tuber rate relatively low. In the regional trial, plant height 59.7 cm, number of main stems per plant 5.4, number of tubers per plant 12.2, marketable tuber rate 64.6%. The whole growth period is 89 days, 8 days longer than Mira and 1 day shorter than E-Malingshu No. 3. Disease resistance identification showed late blight incidence rate of 11.09%, mild mosaic virus disease incidence rate of 0.31%, and bacterial wilt diseased plant rate of 0.
Cultivation points: 1. Use virus-free seed potatoes and adopt the technique of sprout cultivation with tuber transplanting. 2. Reasonable close planting. 4000 plants per mu for monocropping, 2400 plants for intercropping. 3. Scientific fertilization. Apply heavy organic fertilizer, increase phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, and timely apply sprout fertilizer. Apply 1500-2000 kg of farmyard manure per mu as base fertilizer, 20 kg of superphosphate, and 15 kg of compound fertilizer (15:15:15); when young sprouts break through the soil, apply sprout fertilizer early, 10 kg of urea per mu; at budding stage, apply 3-5 kg of urea per mu as appropriate according to growth vigor to prevent premature senescence. 4. Pay attention to crop rotation to prevent bacterial wilt, and pay attention to controlling late blight and the 28-spotted ladybird.
Suitable range: Suitable for planting in the secondary high mountain and high mountain areas of Hubei Province.
