(2) Characteristics and traits: The whole growth period of this variety is 146 days, maturing at the same time as Shanyou 63. This variety has a compact plant type and good luxuriance, 108.2 cm, panicle length 23.7 cm, effective panicles per mu 182,200, grains per panicle 137.2, seed setting rate 82.7%, 1000-grain weight 26.9 g. Brown rice rate 82%, milled rice rate 71.4%, head rice rate 48%, processing and appearance quality superior to the control. In the identification of rice blast resistance, leaf blast grade 2-6, neck blast grade 1-5, resistance significantly better than the control.

(3) Yield performance: In 1997, it participated in the Sichuan provincial regional trial, with an average yield of 564.6 kg per mu, 2.74% higher than Shanyou 63. In 1998, it continued in the trial, with an average yield of 528.58 kg per mu, 2.18% higher than the control; the two-year average was 2.47% higher than the control. In 1998, production trials were conducted in five ecological regions of our province, with an average yield of 569.8 kg per mu, 5.56% higher than Shanyou 63.

(4) Cultivation key points: Sow from mid-to-late March to early April, sow early at the proper time, seedling age 40-45 days, sow sparsely to cultivate strong seedlings with multiple tillers. Plant 13,000-15,000 hills per mu, with two plants per hill, and 160,000-200,000 effective panicles per mu. Apply heavy basal fertilizer and topdress early, with medium-to-above-average fertilizer and water management.
