Characteristics: This variety is a japonica-type conventional glutinous rice. When grown as a single-season late rice in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, its average whole growth period is 147.7 days, 2.1 days later maturing than the control Xiushui 63. Plant height is 96 cm, the plant type is moderate, the plant is relatively short, the population is uniform, the flag leaves are upright, growth is vigorous, and color change at maturity is good. The number of effective panicles per mu is 197,000, panicle length is 19.4 cm, total grains per panicle is 113, seed-setting rate is 90.1%, and 1000-grain weight is 27.7 g. Resistance: rice blast grade 7, bacterial leaf blight grade 3, brown planthopper grade 9. Main rice quality indicators: head rice rate 71.4%, length-to-width ratio 1.7, gel consistency 100 mm, amylose content 1.8%.
Yield performance: In 2001, it participated in the regional trial of the single-season late japonica group in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, with an average yield of 527.61 kg per mu, 4.18% lower than the control Xiushui 63 (extremely significant); in the 2002 continued trial, the average yield was 552.06 kg per mu, 3.21% lower than the control Xiushui 63 (significant); the two-year regional trial average yield was 540.42 kg per mu, 3.67% lower than the control Xiushui 63.
