Introduction to the Characteristics and Traits of the Minyannuo Rice Variety

Characteristics and traits: an indica rice variety suitable for both early and late season use. Vigorous growth at the seedling stage, well-developed root system, tough stems, relatively strong tillering ability, and a moderately compact plant type. Plant height about 90 cm, total leaf number on the main stem 14-15, earing rate 71.4%-89.0%, about 95 grains per panicle, seed setting rate 90%-96%, oval grains, awns on the glume tips, 1000-grain weight 23-24 g, brown rice rate 78.8%, milled rice rate 71.2%, head rice rate 51%, gelatinization temperature grade 7, gel consistency 98 mm, amylose content 1.6%. The whole growth period is 112-125 days. Moderately resistant to rice blast, resistant to bacterial leaf blight, and excellent in glutinous quality. The usual yield is 400-450 kg per mu.

Cultivation points: transplant sparsely to grow strong seedlings, with a sowing rate of 30 kg per mu. Apply sufficient basal fertilizer, promote early and control appropriately, with about 300,000 tillers per mu. Drain and dry the field, and manage water scientifically. Increase the application of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers, and pay attention to the control of sheath blight.

Suitable range: planted in Fujian, Guangxi, Guangdong and other provinces and autonomous regions, as well as in the southern parts of Hunan, Zhejiang and Sichuan provinces.
