This variety was introduced by our institute in 1989 from the Institute of Vegetables and Flowers, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and was developed through years of selection and propagation. Trial plantings show that it has strong adaptability and varietal advantages in the suburban counties of our city and across the country, and it is well received. ① Variety characteristics: plant height about 45 cm, upright type, few branches, well-developed root system, strong growth vigor, large leaves, green leaf color, light lotus-pink flowers.

① Variety characteristics:

Plant height about 45 cm, upright type, few branches, well-developed root system, strong growth vigor, large leaves, green leaf color, light lotus-pink flowers. Yellow skin, yellow flesh, shallow and flat eyes, crisp and tender flesh, good quality. Tuber formation is relatively concentrated, high marketable tuber rate, large tuber rate over 80%, growth period about 90 days, short dormancy period; it is an ideal extremely early-maturing variety and is currently an ideal fresh-eating export variety in China.

Compared with the main varieties currently transferred in from outside our city, this variety has four notable advantages.

a. Early maturity: it can be marketed in early and mid-June, similar to the growth period of Dongnong 303, 15-20 days earlier than Xiaobailing, and suitable for double-cropping cultivation.

b. High yield: garden cultivation yield is about 2,500 kg, and field cultivation can reach 2,000 kg.

c. Disease resistance: it is a virus-free seed potato, and the field virus incidence rate of production seed is 0-1%.

d. High economic benefit: this variety has an extremely short dormancy period and emerges quickly. If sprouting promotion and plastic film mulching are used, it can be marketed 10 days earlier, and the tubers are large and uniform, making it very popular with urban residents. It also faces Southeast Asian exports and has broad prospects.

② Cultivation points:

a. Growth period: sprout in early March, sow in late March, harvest in early and mid-June.

b. Plant and row spacing: 1.4 x 0.6 chi, about 7,000 plants per 667 sq m.

c. Fertilizer and water management: potatoes require loose soil with good aeration, and timely intertillage after emergence. When seedlings are 8-9 cun tall, carry out high ridging and earthing up; after earthing up, water twice in succession, then water frequently with small amounts depending on the weather (half-furrow water), and prevent flooding irrigation. In fertile suburban gardens, attention should be paid to seedling control to prevent excessive vegetative growth.
