Edible Gardening 0 views
I. Variety Origin: Bred in 1996 by the Institute of Crops, Beijing Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences. The parents are: C9162-3/Jinghua 106. It was approved by Beijing in 2000. II. Characteristics: When grown as wheat-stubble rice in the Beijing plain area, the whole growth period is 130-135 days, 3 days longer than Zhongzuo 37. When grown as single-season rice in Yanqing, it takes 160-170 days. Plant height is 89.4 cm, the culm is stiff and resistant to lodging. The leaves are erect and the leaf color is rather dark. Tillering ability is medium. The panicle neck is extremely short, the panicle is relatively large, awnless, with smooth leaves and smooth hulls, and the grains are oval.

I. Variety Origin

Bred in 1996 by the Institute of Crops, Beijing Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences. The parents are: C9162-3/Jinghua 106. It was approved by Beijing in 2000.

II. Characteristics

When grown as wheat-stubble rice in the Beijing plain area, the whole growth period is 130-135 days, 3 days longer than Zhongzuo 37. The number of effective panicles per mu is 217,000, the total number of grains per panicle is 106.2, the seed-setting rate is 85.3%, and the 1000-grain weight is 24.6 grams. It is not sensitive to photoperiod, and branch nodes may turn black when low temperatures occur in the later stage.

Disease resistance: In the field it shows resistance to stripe leaf blight and moderate susceptibility to seedling blast.

Quality analysis: brown rice rate 82.1%, milled rice rate 75.4%, head rice rate 71.9%, grain length 5.1 mm, length-to-width ratio 1.7, chalkiness rate 10%, chalkiness degree 1.2%, transparency grade 2, gelatinization temperature (alkali spreading value) grade 7, gel consistency 68 mm, amylose content 16.6%, protein content 9.4%. Among these, 6 items reach the ministerial first-grade standard and 4 items reach the ministerial second-grade standard.

III. Key Points of Cultivation Techniques

1. For wheat-stubble rice, the suitable sowing period is mid-May, and early transplanting should be pursued. Sparse sowing to raise strong seedlings is required, with a sowing rate of about 100 grams per sq m (equivalent to 67 kg per mu). Before sowing, seeds must be strictly disinfected to prevent bakanae disease. For middle-season rice, sowing can be done in early May and transplanting completed before wheat harvest.

2. For transplanting spacing, a row spacing of 20-25 cm can generally be used (avoid excessive spacing), with a hill spacing of about 15 cm and 2-3 seedlings per hill (not too many).

3. On the basis of strong seedlings and fewer seedlings per hill, the key to high yield for this variety is to secure the number of panicles, and the crux is to increase the panicle-forming rate. Generally, when the total number of stems per mu reaches the planned panicle number, the field can be drained, and at the spikelet differentiation stage water should be returned in time (in the rainy season, block the drainage outlets to store rainwater), with appropriate topdressing to increase the panicle-forming rate and the number of grains per panicle.

4. During the booting and heading stages, a water layer should be maintained to avoid the occurrence or aggravation of neck enclosure.

5. When cultivated as middle-season rice, attention should be paid to the control of sheath blight. In areas where neck blast occurs frequently, attention should be paid to the detection and prevention of this disease. Pay attention to the control of white-backed planthopper and stem borer damage.

IV. Suitable Planting Areas

It is suitable for growing as wheat-stubble rice or late-transplanted middle-season rice in the Beijing and Tianjin plain areas, and as single-season rice in other autumn-light cultivation areas. It is suitable for planting in fields with high fertility levels.
