Variety source: selected from the Japanese "Tsukinohikari" line. Characteristics: This variety is a japonica-type conventional rice variety. Grown in the Beijing, Tianjin and Tangshan area, its whole growth period is 178.8 days, 7 days later maturing than the control Zhongzuo 93. Plant height is 115.4 cm, with thick and sturdy stems, long and upright flag leaves, and panicles below the leaves. Total grains per panicle 132.6, seed-setting rate 84.7%, 1000-grain weight 24.75 g. Resistance: seedling blast grade 3, leaf blast grade 1, neck blast grade 3. Main rice quality indicators: head rice rate 71.6%,

Main rice quality indicators: head rice rate 71.6%, chalky grain rate 11.5%, chalkiness degree 1.1%, gel consistency 91 mm, amylose content 16.6%.

Yield performance: In 2001 it took part in the national rice variety regional trial in the northern rice region, with an average yield of 555.6 kg per mu, 6.0% higher than the control Zhongzuo 93 (not significant); in the 2002 continuation trial, the average yield was 569.5 kg per mu, 6.2% higher than the control Zhongzuo 93 (not significant). In the 2002 production trial, the average yield was 502 kg per mu, 7.2% lower than the control Zhongzuo 93.

Key cultivation techniques: 1. Timely sowing: sow in early to mid-April, with a seedling age of about 45 days; 2. Transplanting density: transplant at a spacing of 30 x 15-18 cm, with 3-4 seedlings per hill; 3. Fertilizer and water management: for fields of ordinary fertility, apply 15 kg of pure nitrogen per mu, of which 50% is used as base fertilizer together with phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, 30% as tillering fertilizer, and 20% as booting fertilizer. For water management, transplant in shallow water, keep deep water for seedling establishment, drain the field in time according to seedling conditions, and after re-flooding irrigate frequently with shallow water; 10 days after full heading, adopt intermittent irrigation, alternating dry and wet, and stop water 7 days before harvest; 4. Pest and disease control: pay attention to controlling the harm of diseases and pests such as rice white-tip nematode and striped stem borer.
