Key Cultivation Techniques for Huaiyou Jing No. 2 Rice
Huaiyou Jing No. 2 is a new medium-maturing medium japonica rice variety bred by the Huaiyin Institute of Agricultural Sciences in the Xu-Huai region of Jiangsu. Its whole growth period is about 152 days, and it is suitable for planting as wheat-stubble rice in the Huaibei region of our province; its stems have good toughness, short basal internodes and strong lodging resistance; it is highly resistant to stripe leaf blight and susceptible to brown spot; its yield per mu is stable at about 550 kg; all rice quality indicators reach the national first-grade high-quality rice standard.
Sparse sowing and sparse transplanting: The amount of dried grain sown per mu of seedling field should not exceed 40 kg, and the seedling age should not exceed 35 days, to ensure strong seedlings from sparse sowing. Widen the transplanting row spacing to 27 cm and the hill spacing to 20 cm, with 2-3 seedlings transplanted per hill.
Rational fertilization: Apply fertilizer well 3 times. First, base fertilizer. In addition to farmyard manure, apply 25 kg of compound fertilizer per mu along with land preparation, and after land preparation broadcast 10 kg of urea per mu. Second, tillering fertilizer. 5-7 days after transplanting, apply 15 kg of urea per mu. Third, panicle fertilizer. When the field is rewatered after draining (around August 1), apply 15 kg of urea per mu.
Pest and disease control: In the middle and late stages of rice growth, pay attention to controlling brown spot, with prevention as the main approach. After the rice begins heading, on cloudy days or in the evening, use 100 g of 75% tricyclazole or 80 g of 40% isoprothiolane per mu, add 50-60 kg of water and spray, spraying once every 7 days for 2-3 consecutive treatments, which also controls rice blast.
