Detailed Explanation of the "Two Micro and One No-Till" Potato Cultivation Technique

Edible Gardening 0 views
"Two Micro and One No-Till" means using 20-25 g seed potato pieces, covering with micro-film after planting, and leaving the land no-till or without deep tillage. This technique shows the most remarkable results on gently sloping red soil hilly land. Compared with ordinary cultivation in the same period, potatoes mature more than 15 days earlier, fertilizer use is reduced by 30%, labor is reduced by 2-3 workers, costs are cut by more than 40%, yields increase by 150-300%, the large-tuber rate rises by 30-40%, and income increases by more than 700 yuan per mu. 1. Select good varieties. Choose early and medium-maturing varieties with high quality, high yield and strong resistance; virus-free varieties are even better.

"Two Micro and One No-Till" means using 20-25 g seed potato pieces, covering with micro-film after planting, and leaving the land no-till or without deep tillage. This technique shows the most remarkable results on gently sloping red soil hilly land. 1. Select good varieties. Choose early and medium-maturing varieties with high quality, high yield and strong resistance; virus-free varieties are even better. Suitable varieties include: Zhongshu No. 2, Zhongshu No. 3, Dongnong 303, Lu Potato No. 1, Zhengshu No. 5, etc.

2. Technical content and planting procedure

No-till or no deep tillage -> apply per mu 50-70 kg of "Hongzhong" brand microbial fertilizer + 16.8-24 kg of 25% NPK compound fertilizer or 9.3-13.3 kg of 45% NPK compound fertilizer + 10-15 kg urea + 330 kg dry chicken manure + 2500 kg pig and cattle manure water or biogas slurry -> sow from November 10 to December 10 -> use 100-125 kg seed potatoes per mu -> cover the seed and form ridges -> after rain or after watering the furrows, spray 200 g of "No Deep Tillage" mixed with 100 kg water -> cover with micro-film -> break holes to let seedlings emerge -> in late February spray 50 g of 15% paclobutrazol mixed with 40 kg water -> in early March spray 20 ml of Pengdaling mixed with 30 kg water -> finish harvesting before mid-April.

3. Key operation points

1. Fertilization. First open planting furrows 15 cm deep on untilled or shallow-tilled land, apply the microbial fertilizer, compound fertilizer, urea and half of the chicken manure into the furrows, cover with 5 cm of fine soil, then pour pig and cattle manure water or biogas slurry into the furrows until saturated moisture is reached, then plant the seed potatoes, and finally spot-apply the other half of the chicken manure between the seed potatoes.

2. Seed potato treatment, sowing, ridge formation and film covering. Sun the seed potatoes, cut them and disinfect them as usual. Cut each kilogram of seed potatoes into 40-50 pieces, and each piece should have 2 buds. Soak the potato pieces in a solution of 5 g "920" mixed with 100 kg water for 5-10 minutes, then carry out sprouting treatment. When sowing, face the buds upward and press them slightly into the muddy paste in the planting furrow. The row spacing and plant spacing for sowing are 50-60 cm x 20-25 cm, with 4500-5500 hills per mu. As soon as sowing is finished, cover the seed and form ridges 15-20 cm high, then spray the "No Deep Tillage" liquid. It should be noted that "No Deep Tillage" must be sprayed after a rain or after irrigating half the furrow so that the ridge surface soil absorbs moisture; otherwise the effect will be affected. Immediately after spraying "No Deep Tillage", cover with micro-film. When covering the film, the edges must be pressed firmly with no gaps, and a little soil should also be scattered on the film to press it down and prevent wind from lifting it. After 25 days of sowing, check promptly and break the film to guide out the seedlings, so as to prevent the sunlight from burning the apical buds. After the seedlings emerge, the field does not need intertillage, weeding, or pest and disease control.
