Variety characteristics: This combination was bred by the Jiaxing Academy of Agricultural Sciences and is an indica-type hybrid combination. It has been trial-planted in our city for two years. The full growth period for single-season planting in our city was 154 days in 2001 and 148 days in 2002. It is highly photoperiod-sensitive, with moderate to above-average tillering, a plant height of 121 cm, a large panicle type, 228 total grains per panicle, a seed-setting rate of about 75%, and a 1000-grain weight of 27.9 g. It has good resistance; the flag leaf is erect, with green stems and yellow ripening, and good late-stage ripening appearance; it has good yield potential and extra-premium grain quality. In the 2002 trial planting in this city, its yield ranked first, with a yield of 641 kg per mu, 60.22 kg higher than the control Xieyou 9308. The panicle-grain structure indicators for a yield of 600 kg per mu: 14,000 hills per mu, a maximum tiller number of 220,000, not exceeding 250,000, 140,000-150,000 effective panicles, 160 filled grains per panicle, and a 1000-grain weight of 26-27 g.
