Approval status: Approved by the Jiangxi Provincial Crop Variety Approval Committee in March 2003

Characteristics and traits: The full growth period is 115.8 days, 0.8 days earlier than the control You I402. Plant height is 84.79 cm. The plant type is moderate, the stems are thick and strong, and the tillering ability is strong. The effective panicles per mu are 263,300, the total grains per panicle are 73.32, the filled grains are 60.91, the seed setting rate is 83.05%, and the 1000-grain weight is 28.48 g. The brown rice rate is 81.3%, the head rice rate is 28.8%, the grain length is 7.3 mm, the length-to-width ratio is 3.2, the chalky grain rate is 92%, the chalkiness degree is 23.0%, the amylose content is 18.17%, and the gel consistency is 71 mm. Natural inoculation identification in diseased areas for rice blast resistance: seedling blast grade 3, leaf blast grade 4, neck blast grade 5.

Yield performance: Participated in the Jiangxi Province rice regional trial from 2001 to 2002. In 2001, the average yield per mu was 461.47 kg, an increase of 4.6% over the control You I402; in 2002, the average yield per mu was 466.24 kg, a decrease of 0.17% compared with the control You I402.

Suitable areas: It can be planted throughout the province.

Key cultivation techniques: Sow in late March, with a sowing rate of 10-15 kg per mu of seedling field, 1.5 kg of seed per mu of main field, seedling age 30-35 days, transplanting spacing 16.5 x 19.8 cm, with 2 grains per hill. Base fertilizer accounts for 50% of the total. Apply topdressing early, and supplement fertilizer later according to seedling condition. Apply 10-13 kg of pure nitrogen, 25-30 kg of phosphate fertilizer, and 7-10 kg of potassium fertilizer per mu. For water management, use shallow water for tillering, drain and sun the field when enough tillers are reached, keep water at heading, and alternate wetting and drying to plump the grains. Pay attention to the prevention and control of pests and diseases.
