Characteristics and traits: This variety is an indica-type three-line hybrid rice. When grown as a single-season mid-season rice in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, the average whole growth period is 151.2 days, 1.4 days earlier maturing than the control Shanyou 63. Plant height is 111.5 cm, leaf color is dark green, plant and leaf shape is moderate, cold tolerance is relatively weak, and color conversion at maturity is good. The number of effective panicles per mu is 165,000, panicle length is 25.7 cm, total grains per panicle is 161.7, seed-setting rate is 80.9%, and 1000-grain weight is 29.5 g. Resistance: rice blast grade 9, bacterial leaf blight grade 5, brown planthopper grade 7. Main rice quality indicators: head rice rate 58.9%, length-to-width ratio 3.2, chalkiness rate 17%, chalkiness degree 2.9%, gel consistency 62 mm, amylose content 23.3%.
Yield performance: In 2002, it participated in the regional trial of the late-maturing high-quality mid-season indica group in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, with an average yield of 589.88 kg per mu, an increase of 8.97% over the control Shanyou 63 (extremely significant); in 2003, in the continued trial, the average yield was 625.91 kg per mu, an increase of 8.62% over the control Shanyou 63 (extremely significant); the two-year regional trial average yield was 609.02 kg per mu, an increase of 8.78% over the control Shanyou 63. In 2003, the production trial average yield was 579.00 kg per mu, an increase of 5.63% over the control Shanyou 63.
Key points of cultivation techniques: 1. Sowing: sow at the same time as Shanyou 63 according to local planting practices, with a sowing rate of 10 kg per mu of seedling field; 2.
