Detailed introduction to the potato variety Chuanyu 39
Approved in Sichuan Province in 1996. Cumulative promotion of 2 million mu.
(1) Variety source: developed by the Crop Research Institute of the Sichuan Academy of Agricultural Sciences in 1991 through crossbreeding of 379645.4X7XY-1.
(2) Characteristics: field observations show that its resistance to viral diseases, late blight, and bacterial wilt is stronger than that of Chuanyu 56 and Mira.
(3) Yield performance: in multi-site trials from 1922-1994, the 3-year 21-site average fresh tuber yield per mu was 1571.8 kg, a 14.22% increase over the control virus-free Chuanyu 56, and a 24.79% increase over Mira, the main variety promoted in production; in 1995 production trials, the 6-site average fresh tuber yield per mu was 1451.4 kg, a 29.8-34.4% increase over the controls Chuanyu 56 and Mira. Marketable tuber rate 73.95%; starch content 15.14%.
(4) Suitable planting areas: suitable for planting in potato production areas within the province, and areas below 1000 m elevation can be planted in both spring and autumn seasons.
