The newly bred red rice Wandao 129, also known as Peiliangyou 98, is a new rice variety that the Anqing Agricultural Science Research Institute began focusing on breeding in 1999. Its grains are light red, and after fine processing they become dark red. It has the characteristics of excellent rice quality, high yield and good resistance. At present, the planted area reaches 800 hectares, the per-unit yield is all above 500 kg, and the per-unit yield of high-yield plots can reach 650 kg. It is understood that the successful breeding of Wandao 129 fills the domestic gap in two-line hybrid rice (red rice) varieties, and the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Finance have officially designated it as a project supported by the Agricultural Science and Technology Achievement Transformation Fund.
