Cultivation Methods and Technical Key Points for Gastrodia elata in Wide-Mouth Bottles
Requirements for the bed frame: The bed frame is basically the same in form as the bed frames used for indoor cultivation of Gastrodia elata, except that each tier of the bed frame is spaced 30 cm apart, with 10-12 tiers, and no surrounding boards are needed. The bottom layer can be made of wooden boards or sorghum stalk mats.
The wide-mouth bottle is 18 cm tall, 8 cm in diameter, with an inner mouth diameter of 4 cm.
Cultivation method: Fill the culture material for cultivating secondary solid spawn into the wide-mouth bottle, filling it to a little more than 1/3 of the bottle's volume, sterilize under high pressure, and after cooling, inoculate with secondary Armillaria mellea spawn, place in a 19-22°C greenhouse and culture for 30 days, and it becomes the culture medium for Armillaria mellea. On each bottle of well-cultivated Armillaria mellea culture medium, place basic culture material (the basic culture material is best made of humus soil with a little fine sand and small wood blocks, or sawdust, semi-decomposed fallen leaves plus sand plus small wood blocks, with humidity at 50%-55%) 3 cm thick. Then place 1-3 small Gastrodia tubers, planting them into the culture material at equal distances, with the apical buds facing outward. Then fill in culture material up to the shoulder of the bottle, plug with a cotton plug, and culture. The entire cultivation period requires 8-12 months.
