Which varieties can be used for controlling the rice stem borer (Chilo suppressalis)?

(1) Fipronil. The recommended dose is 1.5-2.5 g active ingredient per mu. The key application points are: spray at the peak hatching stage of the rice stem borer eggs; the field may be kept with or without a water layer. Because fipronil is highly toxic to bees and aquatic organisms, and especially highly toxic to shrimp and crabs, do not use it in bee-keeping areas or shrimp and crab farming areas. If it must be used, it is recommended to drain the field water before application. After a rice field has been treated with fipronil, do not discharge the field water into fish ponds or rivers and ditches. (2) Fipronil + trichlorfon

(2) Fipronil + trichlorfon (1:49). The recommended dose is 50 g active ingredient per mu. The key application points are: spray at the peak hatching stage of the rice stem borer eggs; it is best to keep a water layer in the field. Do not use in shrimp or crab farming areas.

(3) Triazophos. The recommended dose is 30-40 g active ingredient per mu. The key application points are: spray at the peak hatching stage of the rice stem borer eggs. Because triazophos has a relatively long residual period and can stimulate the increase of the rice brown planthopper, it should be used before the heading stage of rice, and is recommended for early rice or use in the first half of the year. It should not be used in areas where the rice stem borer has developed high resistance to triazophos.
