Introduction to the Rice Variety Feiyou Duoxi No. 1
(1) Variety source: This variety is a medium-indica late-maturing combination developed by the Neijiang Hybrid Rice Science and Technology Development Center in 1992 by crossing the male sterile line Feigai A with the restorer line Duohui No. 1.
(2) Characteristics: The full growth period is 145-150 days, 2-3 days shorter than the control Shanyou 63. The plant height is 105-110 cm, the panicle layer is neat, the seedling stage has vigorous growth, the leaves are medium-wide and erect, and the plant type is compact. The color turns well in the later stage and does not senesce early. The average number of grains per panicle is 136.5, the seed-setting rate is 85-90%, the 1000-grain weight is about 30 g, and the grain length-to-width ratio is 3.1:1. The rice quality is excellent, the appearance and processing quality are good, and the resistance is better than that of the control.
(3) Yield performance: In 1994 and 1996, this combination participated in the provincial high-quality rice group regional trial, and the average yield per mu was 1.02% higher than that of the control Shanyou 63. In the production trial, the average yield per mu was 512.18 kg, 3.07% higher than that of the control Shanyou 63.
(4) Cultivation points: Cultivation should be carried out with medium to above-medium fertility, and excessive application of nitrogen fertilizer should be avoided.
(5) Suitable planting areas: This combination is suitable for planting in Sichuan and the southern rice regions as single-season medium rice or single-season medium rice plus ratoon rice or double-season late rice.
