Approval number: Guoshendao 2005035. Characteristics and traits: This variety is an indica two-line hybrid rice. When grown as double-cropping late rice in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, the average whole growth period is 117.5 days, 0.7 days earlier than the control Shanyou 46. The plant type is relatively loose, with a plant height of 110.0 cm, 172,000 effective panicles per mu, and a panicle length of 2

Fengliangyou No.1 was bred by Hefei Fengle Seed Co., Ltd. It was approved by the Anhui Provincial Crop Variety Approval Committee in 2003, and by the Henan Provincial and Hubei Provincial Crop Variety Approval Committees in 2004.

The plant type is relatively loose, with a plant height of 110.0 cm, 172,000 effective panicles per mu, a panicle length of 22.4 cm, 138.1 total grains per panicle, a seed-setting rate of 77.9%, and a 1000-grain weight of 28.8 g. Resistance: average resistance to rice blast grade 5.0, maximum grade 7; bacterial leaf blight grade 5; brown planthopper grade 9. Main rice quality indicators: head rice rate 56.5%, chalky grain rate 25%, chalkiness degree 2.8%, gel consistency 63 mm, amylose content 16.0%, reaching National High-Quality Rice Standard Grade 2.

Yield performance: In 2003, it participated in the regional trial of the late indica medium-late maturing high-quality group in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, with an average yield of 487.84 kg per mu, 2.86% higher than the control Shanyou 46 (extremely significant); in the 2004 continued trial, the average yield was 498.7 kg per mu, 20.9% higher than the control Shanyou 46 (significant); the two-year regional trial average yield was 493.27 kg per mu, 2.48% higher than the control Shanyou 46. In 2004, the average yield in the production trial was 468.25 kg per mu, 4.73% higher than the control Shanyou 46.

Cultivation points: Sow this variety at the proper time, use moist seedling raising, with a seeding rate of 1.5 kg per mu in the field, and cultivate strong seedlings with multiple tillers. Transplant when the seedling age is 25-28 days. For medium-to-high fertility soil, transplant enough for 18,000 hills; for fields with medium fertility, transplant enough for 20,000 hills per mu, with 1-2 grain seedlings per hill. The nitrogen fertilizer application rate is 14-16 kg pure nitrogen per mu. The principle for nitrogen fertilizer application is: heavy at the front, controlled in the middle, and supplemented later; phosphorus and potassium fertilizers are mostly applied as base fertilizer. For water management, adopt shallow water for transplanting, one-cun water for seedling establishment, thin water for tillering, deep water for heading, and alternate wetting and drying in the later stage. Pay attention to timely control of rice blast, rice false smut, and other diseases and insect pests.

Suitable areas: Suitable for planting as late rice in double-cropping rice areas with light occurrence of rice blast in central and northern Guangxi, northern Guangdong, central and northern Fujian, central and southern Jiangxi, central and southern Hunan, and southern Zhejiang.
