Buffalo with strabismus can be treated with garlic
The author has used garlic and its preparations to cure several cases of strabismus in buffalo, with satisfactory results. Reported as follows:
The symptom is deviation of the eyeball along its longitudinal axis. In severe cases only the sclera is visible, while the cornea and pupil cannot be seen, and vision is lost. This disease is suspected to be a sequela of tetanus. The author diagnosed and treated 5 cases, all of which were cases after recovery from tetanus.
For treatment, some sources suggest surgical therapy, but surgical therapy is technically difficult, and postoperative care is difficult, so it is generally inconvenient for grassroots veterinarians to use. I tried treatment with garlic and garlic injection and obtained satisfactory results. For a cow with a general body weight of 200 kg, use 500 g of raw garlic plus 500 g of white sugar, mixed with an appropriate amount of warm water and administer by drenching at one time. At the same time, use 50 mL of garlic injection plus 2000 mL of 5% glucose saline for a single intravenous injection, once a day, for 4 consecutive days as one course of treatment. Generally, one course of treatment cures the disease. For severe cases, at most two courses of treatment are used.
