Characteristics: This variety is a three-line hybrid rice combination of medium indica late maturity, with a whole growth period of 151 days, comparable to the control II You 58. Plant height is about 111 cm, with strong growth vigor, uniform plant growth, moderate plant and leaf morphology, coordinated panicle and grain structure, and good late-season appearance. Effective panicles per mu are 180,000-210,000, the panicle-bearing rate is about 60%, panicle length is 22-24 cm, total grains per panicle are 140-150, seed setting rate is about 85%, and 1000-grain weight is about 29 g. Rice blast resistance is grade 3. Main rice quality indicators: head rice rate 57.8%, length-to-width ratio 2.7, chalky rice rate 46%, chalkiness degree 7.7%, gel consistency 46 mm, amylose content 22.00%.

Yield performance: In 2002, it participated in the medium indica regional trial in the Wuling Mountain area, with an average yield of 552.88 kg per mu, 4.5% higher than the control Shanyou 63 (extremely significant); in 2003, in the continued trial, the average yield was 578.08 kg per mu, 3.87% higher than the control II You 58 (extremely significant); the two-year regional trial average yield was 565.48 kg per mu. In 2003, the average yield in the production trial was 569.0 kg per mu, 4.58% higher than the control II You 58.

Key cultivation techniques: 1. Cultivate strong seedlings: adopt dry-raised early-development technology to cultivate multi-tiller strong seedlings; 2. Transplanting: transplant 20,000-22,000 hills per mu, with 2 grain seedlings per hill, at a spacing of 16.5 x 26.4 cm or 13.3 x 33 cm, with 100,000-120,000 basic seedlings per mu; 3. Fertilization: apply sufficient basal fertilizer, apply seedling fertilizer early, apply panicle fertilizer heavily, and supplement grain fertilizer as appropriate, with special attention to the combined application of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers; 4. Water management: require 1 cun of water for seedling establishment, shallow water for tillering, and sun-drying the field when there are sufficient seedlings; 5. Pest and disease control: during the seedling stage, focus on controlling bakanae disease.

Approval opinion: Upon review, this variety meets the national rice variety approval standards and has passed approval. This variety has moderate maturity, relatively high yield, moderate resistance to rice blast, and average rice quality. It is suitable for planting as single-season medium rice below 800 m altitude in the Wuling Mountain area of Hubei, Hunan, Guizhou provinces and Chongqing Municipality.
