Introduction to the Characteristics and Cultivation Key Points of the Rice Variety Fuyou 130

(1) Variety source: This combination was developed by Leshan Agricultural School by crossing the self-bred restorer line 130 (740098/Fuhui 6811/Minghui 63) with the male sterile line Fu 76A bred by the Sichuan Institute of Nuclear Science.

(2) Characteristics: The full growth period is 152.0 days, about days longer than Shanyou 63. Plant height is 116.1 cm, average grains per panicle is 144.0, seed setting rate is 84.7%, and 1000-grain weight is 29.3 g. The plants grow uniformly, with relatively strong cold tolerance at the seedling stage, above-average tillering ability, and a moderate plant type; the stems are hard and resistant to lodging, and the ratooning ability is strong. The brown rice rate is 80.5%, and the milled rice rate is 70.0%. The eating, processing, and appearance quality are superior to those of the control. In the identification of rice blast resistance, seedling leaf blast is grade 6-7, and neck blast is grade 3-5, with resistance stronger than that of Shanyou 63.

(3) Yield performance: In the 1995-1996 Sichuan provincial regional trial, the two-year average yield was 569.03 kg per mu, an increase of 3.59% over the control Shanyou 63. In the 1996 production trial, the average yield of five trial sites was 684.54 kg per mu, an increase of 12.23% over the control Shanyou 63.

(4) Suitable planting areas: Suitable for planting in the single-season rice areas and ratoon rice areas in our province where Shanyou 63 is grown.
