Yield Performance: In the 1995-1996 identification trials, the average yield per hectare was 8132.6 kg, an average increase of 8.0% over the control variety Dongnong 416. In the 1996 off-site identification trial, the average yield per hectare was 8073.9 kg, an average increase of 6.8% over the control variety Dongnong 416. Characteristics: It is a japonica rice with a growth period of about 132-134 days and requires an active accumulated temperature of 2500°C. Plant height is 90 cm, panicle length is 18 cm, grains per panicle are about 80, and 1000-grain weight is 2

Characteristics: It is a japonica rice with a growth period of about 132-134 days and requires an active accumulated temperature of 2500°C. Plant height is 90 cm, panicle length is 18 cm, grains per panicle are about 80, and 1000-grain weight is 25.8 g. In 2000, artificial inoculation showed seedling blast grade 7, leaf blast grade 8, and neck blast grade 5; natural infection showed seedling blast grade 7, leaf blast grade 6, and neck blast grade 5. Brown rice rate is 83.5%, milled rice rate is 75.2%, head rice rate is 73.4%, length-to-width ratio is 1.8, chalkiness size is 8.75%, chalky grain rate is 3.25%, chalkiness degree is 0.75%, alkali spreading value is grade 6.8, gel consistency is 65.1 mm, amylose content is 16.34%, and crude protein content is 7.220%.

Cultivation Points: Sow and raise seedlings from April 15-20, and transplant from May 20-25. Transplanting spacing is 30×12 cm or 30×20 cm, with 3 plants per hill. This variety has moderate fertilizer preference and average lodging resistance, so fertilization should be slightly lower than conventional levels. Generally, for medium-fertility plots, 100 kg of diammonium phosphate, 50 kg of potassium sulfate, and 200 kg of urea can be applied per hectare. Under high-fertility conditions and in lushly growing plots, attention should be paid to the prevention and control of rice blast.
