What rice variety is Gangyou 131399?

(1) Variety source: This variety is a medium indica late-maturing hybrid rice combination developed by the Yibin Municipal Academy of Agricultural Sciences using Gang 46A as the female parent and the self-selected japonica-quality-source restorer line Yihui 1313 as the male parent.

(2) Characteristics: The combination has a whole growth period of 148 days, 2 days earlier maturing than Canyou 63; plant height 110-115 cm; panicle length 24 cm; grains per panicle 160-180; seed setting rate above 85%; 1000-grain weight 28-30 g; brown rice rate 81.5%; milled rice rate 72.14%; head rice rate 55.8%. Rice blast identification: leaf blast grade 4-5, neck blast grade 0-1, with resistance stronger than the control.

(3) Yield performance: In 1995-1996, it was entered in the regional trials of Yibin and Neijiang respectively, with an average yield of 564.6 kg per mu, 5.38% higher than the control Shanyou 63; the average yield in the production trials in the two cities was 572.4 kg per mu, 9.5% higher than the control.

(4) Cultivation points: Use dry-raised seedlings or wet seedling beds with plastic film mulching, and transplant small to medium seedlings; seedling age should not exceed 35-40 days; transplanting spacing is 8X5 cun; apply fertilizer as a mix of organic fertilizer with nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, applying 8 kg of pure nitrogen per mu, with heavy basal application and early topdressing.

(5) Suitable planting areas: Suitable for planting in areas of our province where medium hybrid rice is grown, and especially in ratoon rice planting areas it can better exert its yield-increasing capacity.
