Characteristics: This variety is a conventional japonica-type upland rice variety. When grown as a single-season upland rice in the north, the average whole growth period is 153.7 days, 10 days longer than the control Han 72. Plant height is 78.51 cm, panicle length is 13.72 cm, the maximum number of seedlings per mu is 346,600 plants, the panicle-forming rate is 71.94%, the number of grains per panicle is 99.59, the seed-setting rate is 84.96%, and the 1000-grain weight is 21.9 g. Resistance: The average field performance across test sites showed drought resistance grade 2.4, leaf blast grade 1.9, and panicle neck blast grade 2.5. Main rice quality indicators: head rice rate 71.4%, chalkiness rate 62%, chalkiness degree 7.9%, gel consistency 87 mm, and amylose 14.36%.

Yield performance: In 2001, it participated in the regional trial of upland rice in the single-season medium-late maturity group in the northern rice region, with an average yield of 289.52 kg per mu, 3.83% higher than the control Han 72; in the 2002 continued trial, the average yield was 362.41 kg per mu, 10.69% higher than the control Han 72 (extremely significant); the two-year regional trial average yield was 326.0 kg per mu, 7.53% higher than the control Han 72. In the 2003 production trial, the average yield was 409.3 kg per mu, higher than the control variety Han 72.

Key cultivation techniques: 1. Land preparation: Level the land before sowing, apply 2000 kg of farmyard manure per mu, and after furrowing apply 20 kg of compound fertilizer, 15 kg of urea, and 2 kg of multi-element micro-fertilizer per mu. 2. Sowing: Drill sowing with a row spacing of 30 cm, sowing depth of 2-3 cm, and a sowing rate of 7.5 kg per mu. After sowing, press the soil or tread the grid; 3. Chemical weed control: After emergence, use 0.25 kg of Kuai Sha Bai, 0.25 kg of 60% butachlor, and 0.25 kg of oxadiazon per mu, mix and spray with water; 4. Field management: If drought occurs at the emergence, tillering, booting, and grain-filling stages, irrigate promptly; from jointing and booting to heading, apply about 15 kg of urea as topdressing according to seedling condition; 5. Pest and disease control: Pay attention to controlling rice blast and rice false smut.

Approval opinion: Upon review, this variety meets the national rice variety approval standards and has passed approval. This variety has relatively strong drought resistance, relatively late maturity, relatively high yield, is moderately susceptible to rice blast, and has average rice quality. It is suitable for dryland cultivation in central and southern Liaoning as well as the Beijing, Tianjin, and Tang regions.
