Current Technical Guidance on Rice Seedbed Management

Edible Gardening 0 views
Currently, some early-sowing areas are affected by sharp temperature changes caused by cold waves, and rice seedlings have suffered frost damage to varying degrees, which has affected seedbed management and will delay the transplanting process to a certain extent. In order to improve seedbed management and reduce low-temperature damage, the following technical guidance on seedbed management is hereby proposed. 1. Small-tunnel seedling cultivation. According to the weather forecast, add more covering material on the tunnel and keep it sealed for insulation. In case of frost, candles can be lit or smoke can be generated inside the tunnel to raise the temperature and prevent freezing. For medium and large tunnel seedling cultivation, ventilation should be reduced or even stopped. Straw curtains should be placed around the tunnel, plastic film should be laid flat inside the tunnel,

Straw curtains should be placed around the tunnel, plastic film should be laid flat inside the tunnel, and at 1-2 a.m. a basin of fire or smoke can be used to raise the temperature.

2. Strengthen seedbed management for seedlings that have already suffered frost damage. Irrigate with cool water before sunrise to help the seedlings recover. After sunrise, lay straw mats flat on the bed surface to prevent strong light exposure and avoid too rapid a temperature rise or high temperatures worsening chilling injury. Never cover seedlings at high temperatures.

3. Strengthen seedling field management. It is necessary not only to prevent excessively high temperatures in the tunnel from producing weak seedlings, but also to prevent low temperatures and water shortage from producing small old seedlings, and especially to prevent severe temperature fluctuations from causing damping-off and blight and resulting in seedling death.

Tests have shown that spraying nano magnetic energy liquid during the rice seedling stage has a significant effect on cold resistance, frost prevention, and seedling strengthening.

For seedlings that have already suffered frost damage, spraying nano magnetic energy liquid can also effectively alleviate the damage and help the seedlings return to normal growth within a short period.
